Many applications require phase locking of two or more lasers with a frequency difference up to 100 GHz. In typical systems this is often accomplished with separate circuitry and components with associated complexity, size and cost. OEwaves’ HI-Q® Laser Locking System is a simple solution to achieve the function. It receives part of the input from each laser and provides the user with the ability to automatically and rapidly phase lock two independent lasers together. This is done by generating an output signal to control one of the lasers and keep it locked to the source laser.
Such a capability supports a variety of photonic applications where phase locking of two or multiple lasers are required. Examples of such applications include quantum sensors and photonic generation of RF signals.
“Numerous advanced applications in optical communication and quantum technology systems rely on phase locking two or multiple lasers together,” said Lute Maleki, CEO of OEwaves. “This new OEwaves product provides an easy to operate and robust means for achieving this fundamental function.”
OEwaves will display the HI-Q series of low noise, high stability laser, THz, and RF products, including the HI-Q Laser Locking System, at Photonics West 2025 in San Francisco, Jan. 28 – 30, Booth #3634.
