OEwaves’ HI-Q® Terahertz Source provides reference frequency outputs tunable over 40- to 110 GHz with unrivaled low phase noise which is independent of frequency. The frequency range is readily extended to 500 GHz and beyond as higher bandwidth photomixers become commercially available.
The unique design of the OEwaves HI-Q® THz source is based on photonic generation of spectrally pure signals leading to phase noise that is independent of output frequency. This is accomplished with our patented technology of semiconductor lasers injection locked to ultrahigh quality factor (Q) crystalline optical whispering gallery mode resonators. The THz Source is frequency stabilized with an internal oscillator at 10
-10 stability level. Alternatively, it could be stabilized to the level of stability of an external LO provided by the user.
