About this Event
Join us to learn more about OEwaves' ground-breaking photonics product line. In this webinar, Dr. Yu-Hung Lai will discuss the technology behind our proprietary products. In this hour talk, we'll cover the following products:
The proprietary, homodyne-based discriminator in the OEwaves’ OE4000 HI-Q® Optical Phase Noise Analyzer is characterized by its ultra-low noise floor. This market-leading analyzer measures phase/frequency noise of optical sources, calculates laser linewidths of instantaneous (Lorentzian) and user-selected integration times and offers RIN (intensity noise) measurements as an optional feature. Multiple input wavelength bands are available to choose or combine, offset frequencies ranging from 1Hz to 100MHz and extended frequency offset up to 40GHz are available for RIN measurements. The OE4000 Test & Measurement system does not require a secondary reference source.
OEwaves’ compact, cw, single-frequency, HI-Q® laser systems are capable of delivering sub-Hz instantaneous linewidths. This laser source features a self-injection locked Whispering Gallery Mode (WGM) micro-resonator with integrated driver/controller which is insensitive to environmental vibrations and is characterized by very low phase/frequency noise. Our standard, off-the-shelf lasers include a full line of C-band lasers as well as 780nm, 1µm and 2µm operating wavelengths. OEwaves has delivered ultra-narrow linewidth lasers at 370nm, 493nm, 689nm, 871nm, 1590nm, 3200nm, 4500nm and many other operating wavelengths within the 370 – 4500nm wavelength range.
HI-Q® Whispering Gallery Mode Resonator (WGMR)
An OEwaves core technology, the Whispering Gallery Mode Resonator (WGMR) is a rugged micro-resonator with exceptional Q-factor (up to 1011) that is thermally stable and highly insensitive to vibration and acceleration. The device is fabricated from optically transparent, dielectric materials that can be fast modulated and thermally tuned mode hop free. It is an ultra-low noise spectral filter that supports operating wavelengths from UV to Mid-IR and delivers typical improvements in phase noise of 40 – 60 dB, equal to narrowing laser diode linewidths by at least four orders of magnitude.
